2. Jungle

The jungle covers more than 60% of the surface area of the country, has 31 ecosystems, more than 15 thousand species of animals and 25 thousand plants. Some of destination is Quistococha Tourist Complex in Iquitos, Kuélap in Chachapoyas, the Blue Lagoon in Tarapoto or the Manu National Park and the Tambopata Reserve in Madre de Dios.

1. Dunes and deserts
   The main of the characteristics of the country is its desert coast. In Piura and Lambayeque we find the Sechura desert, the largest in the country (5,000 km2). The second is located in Paracas and the third is Atacama, which starts in Tacna. On the other hand, while the dunes of Pisco were praised by the participants of the 2018 Dakar rally for the difficult challenge of crossing them, those of the Huacachina congregate travelers who want to practice less extreme sports such as sandboarding and tubular ride.
2. Ruins

   There are pre-Hispanic archaeological complexes that include temples, fortresses and cemeteries. The largest is the Necropolis of Ancon. In its 68.41 hectares, it has 4 thousand tombs from the 500 AD. In Miraflores, on the other hand, the Pucllana huaca rises, which was populated between 400 and 700 AD. In its museum you can admire textiles, ceramics and artifacts.
